Hajj Nusuk Registration Guide (Direct Hajj Program)
If you live in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom or most other Western countries, the way you book Hajj has changed. Pilgrimage for Muslim-minority countries is now arranged directly through the official Saudi Nusuk Hajj platform under the Direct Hajj Program, rather than through third-party travel agents.
This guide explains how the Nusuk system works, what documents you need, and how to complete registration. hajj.to is an independent guidance site. We are not affiliated with Nusuk or the Saudi government and we do not sell Hajj. Always complete your actual booking on the official platform at hajj.nusuk.sa.
What Is Nusuk Hajj
Nusuk Hajj, found at hajj.nusuk.sa, is the official Saudi platform through which pilgrims from Muslim-minority countries register for and book their Hajj. It is the authorised channel, and for these countries it has largely replaced the older system of national quotas handled by private travel agents.
Through the platform you create an account, browse approved packages, select the services you want, and pay directly. Because it is run under Saudi authority, it aims to reduce fraud and give pilgrims a transparent view of what they are buying. Registration for the season for Muslim-minority countries opened in October 2025.
Nusuk began as a broader services platform for Umrah and travel within Saudi Arabia, and the dedicated Hajj service builds on that foundation. For pilgrims, the practical benefit is a single, traceable place to register, pay and receive updates, which reduces reliance on middlemen and the risks that once came with them.
Who Uses the Direct Program
The Direct Hajj Program applies to residents of countries where Muslims are a minority, including the USA, Canada, the UK, most of Europe, and Australia. If you hold residence in one of these countries, this is almost certainly the route you will use, regardless of your nationality.
Pilgrims from Muslim-majority countries generally still register through their own national systems, which may look different. Because rules can be updated each season, always confirm your eligibility and current process on the official platform rather than relying on older advice or social media posts.
Nationality and residence are treated separately, so a citizen of a Muslim-majority country who lives in the UK, for example, generally follows the Direct Hajj Program for UK residents. When in doubt about which route applies to you, the platform itself will indicate the process once you enter your country of residence.
Creating Your Account
Setting up your Nusuk account is the first practical step. The process is done online and typically follows this sequence:
- Go to hajj.nusuk.sa and choose to register or create an account.
- Select your country of residence, which determines the packages shown to you.
- Enter your email and phone number and verify them with a one-time password (OTP).
- Complete your personal profile with details that match your passport exactly.
Use your legal name as printed in your passport and double-check spelling. Small mismatches between your account and your travel documents can cause delays later, so accuracy at this stage saves trouble.
If the platform is busy near peak times, be patient and avoid creating multiple accounts, which can cause conflicts. One clear, accurate account per pilgrim household is what you want. Keep your login details somewhere safe, as you will return to the account repeatedly through the process.
Documents You Need
Have your documents scanned and ready before you begin, as the platform will ask you to upload them. Typical requirements include:
- A passport valid for the required period, usually at least six months beyond travel.
- A recent passport-style photograph that meets the stated format.
- Proof of residence in your country, such as a residence card or utility document.
You can usually add family members to a single account, commonly up to seven people, which is convenient for households travelling together. Each added member normally needs their own passport, photo and residence proof uploaded in the same way.
Choosing a Package
Nusuk presents a range of packages at different tiers, which vary by hotel distance from the Haram, tent location in Mina, transport, meals and level of service. Prices rise as proximity and comfort increase. When comparing options, look closely at:
- How far the Makkah and Madinah hotels are from the mosque.
- Whether the price covers all internal transport and meals.
- The location and standard of the Mina camp, which affects your comfort on the hardest days.
- The total number of nights and what is included in each city.
Choose based on your budget and physical needs. A closer hotel and better Mina camp cost more but reduce walking and fatigue, which matters greatly for older pilgrims or anyone with health concerns.
Take time comparing tiers rather than rushing to the cheapest or the most convenient. A package that looks affordable but places you far from the Haram can mean hours of extra walking each day, while an expensive one may include comforts you do not need. Match the choice to your health, budget and patience for walking.
After You Book
Once you select a package and pay, your booking moves through confirmation and, where required, allocation. You may receive updates by email and within your account, so check both regularly. Keep copies of every confirmation and payment receipt.
Because demand can exceed the available places, some seasons use a confirmation or draw stage, and a booking request is not always instantly final. Read each message from the platform carefully and respond within any stated deadline so you do not lose your place.
Once confirmed, note every reference number and keep your documents together in one folder, both digital and printed. You will need them at various points, and having them ready avoids stress. If a payment or confirmation does not appear as expected, check your account and email before assuming anything has gone wrong.
Common Issues and Tips
Pilgrims sometimes run into practical hurdles. A few tips help you avoid the most common ones:
- Start early. Popular packages and better camps sell out as the season fills.
- Keep your OTP phone and email accessible, as you will need them repeatedly.
- Only use the official domain hajj.nusuk.sa and be wary of lookalike sites and unofficial sellers.
- Save screenshots of each completed step in case you need to show your progress.
If something goes wrong, use the official support channels listed on the platform. Avoid sending money or documents to any third party who claims to guarantee a place outside the official system. When in doubt, verify directly on hajj.nusuk.sa, which is the only authoritative source for the current process.
Remember that hajj.to cannot register you and does not process any bookings. Our role is simply to help you understand the steps so you can complete them confidently and safely on the official platform yourself.
