Hajj route by nationality · checked 2026-09-19
How Hajj works for 82 nationalities
Two systems cover every passport: direct registration on the Nusuk Hajj platform for the 22 serviced countries on this list, or a national Hajj mission with a quota everywhere else. Pick your passport for the authority, the steps, the quota and the health documents.
Nusuk direct or national quota?
| System | Who | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Nusuk Hajj direct | 22 nationalities here, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, all EU states, Japan, South Korea, South Africa and Brazil | Register on hajj.nusuk.sa, choose a package from a licensed Saudi provider, pay there. The visa and Nusuk card follow the booking. No agent can issue a Hajj visa outside the platform. |
| National Hajj mission | 60 nationalities here, from Indonesia and Pakistan to Turkey, Malaysia, Singapore, Egypt and the GCC states | A ministry, commission or council registers pilgrims against a Saudi-agreed quota, usually by lottery or queue, then handles visas through the national mission and licensed operators. |
What every page checks for your passport
- Whether you can apply for the visa online yourself, or must use a licensed operator, verified against the official eVisa eligibility list and the Nusuk Hajj serviced-countries list.
- The Saudi Ministry of Health vaccination rules read for your country: meningococcal for everyone, plus the polio, yellow fever and cholera lists.
- Your national Hajj authority, the 2026 quota where one was published, and how registration and selection work.
- Where the Saudi embassy and consulates are in your country, and which cities have nonstop Saudia flights.
- The rules that changed this season: the 30-day entry window, the Nusuk booking requirement, Umrah on tourist visas, and the new 365-day multiple-entry Umrah visa.
Rules that apply to every nationality this season
- Umrah visa entry window. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah cut the window to enter the Kingdom to 30 days from issue in late 2025; the stay after arrival can still be up to 90 days. The Ministry's own FAQ has shown older values, so read the dates printed on your visa.
- No booking, no visa. An Umrah visa is issued only against a Nusuk hotel and transport booking made by you or your operator.
- Umrah on other visas. The Ministry allows Umrah on tourist, personal-visit, family-visit, business and transit visas outside the Hajj season, with the same Nusuk permit.
- Multiple-entry Umrah visa. On 20 July 2026 the Ministry launched a 365-day multiple-entry Umrah visa with a cumulative stay of up to 90 days; each visit needs a Nusuk service package and a permit, and it is not valid during the Hajj season.
- Permits. Umrah permits and Rawdah permits are issued only in the Nusuk app.
- Hajj. No Hajj on an Umrah or tourist visa. Hajj visas come only through Nusuk Hajj (for serviced countries) or your national Hajj mission.
Verified 2026-09-19 against the Saudi Press Agency, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Nusuk Hajj serviced-countries list. Rules change between seasons: confirm on nusuk.sa, visa.visitsaudi.com or your nearest Saudi embassy before you pay.

Not on the list? Check the eVisa eligibility list on visa.visitsaudi.com and the serviced countries on hajj.nusuk.sa. If neither lists your country, a licensed Umrah operator and your national Hajj authority are the routes.
