How to read these numbers: GASTAT's 'Umrah performers' totals include both Saudi citizens/residents (domestic) and arrivals from abroad (international); the umrahByYear figures here are the international/external component only, not the combined total GASTAT sometimes headlines (e.g. 35.68 million for 2024 combines 16.80M international with 18.88M domestic). The 2025 international Umrah figure (18.03 million) is drawn from the Pilgrim Experience Program's 2025 annual report rather than a single GASTAT annual release; summing GASTAT's own quarterly external-Umrah figures for 2025 (Q1 6.52M + Q2 1.32M + Q3 4.32M + Q4 5.70M) gives an independent cross-check of approximately 17.87 million. Hajj 2020 and 2021 totals reflect COVID-19 pandemic restrictions limiting Hajj to residents already inside Saudi Arabia; 'domestic' in those two years includes both Saudi citizens and foreign residents in the Kingdom, consistent with how GASTAT defines 'domestic' in other years, and 'international' is correctly zero since no pilgrims entered from abroad. Quota figures for ranks 11-25 in quotas2026 come from a secondary aggregator (worldpopulationreview.com) rather than country-specific 2026 press coverage, which was not found for all of these countries during this research; treat them as the most recently published figures available rather than confirmed-for-2026 official numbers. Ranks 1-10 are corroborated by multiple 2026-dated press sources. seasonDates1448 covers the Umrah visa season (visa issuance, entry and departure windows for 1448 AH), which is distinct from Hajj-specific dates; the separate hajj2027 field estimates the Hajj 2027 date range. hajj2027.expectedDates is a calculation from the Hijri calendar, not an official Saudi government announcement; exact Hajj 2027 dates will be confirmed officially closer to the season and depend on moon sighting.
