How Much Will Hajj Cost in 2027?
Hajj 2027 (1448 AH) is expected around 14 to 19 May 2027, subject to the moon sighting, and the cost of going varies by country and package tier far more than by anything else. A pilgrim booking on Nusuk Hajj from the United States, the United Kingdom or Canada chooses between tiers that differ several times over in price; a pilgrim in a national quota system pays the price the national authority publishes each year.
This guide explains what drives the price, what a package normally includes, the costs that appear after the package is paid, and how to plan for 2027 before the cheaper tiers sell out. Every figure here is a planning estimate taken from our country cost guides, not a quote; confirm current prices on hajj.nusuk.sa or with your national authority. hajj.to is independent and does not sell Hajj.
What drives the price
Five things set most of the price of a Hajj package, and they are the same on Nusuk and in national systems: where your Mina camp is, how far your hotels are from the Haram, how many people share a room, how many nights you spend in Madinah, and how you fly. Everything else is detail.
| Driver | Why it moves the price | How to check it in a package |
|---|---|---|
| Mina camp category | Camps close to the Jamarat, with better cooling and fewer pilgrims per tent, are the scarcest thing in Hajj | Ask for the camp zone and the number of pilgrims per tent |
| Hotel distance in Makkah and Madinah | A tower at the gates costs several times a hotel a shuttle ride away | Ask for the hotel name and walking time, not "near Haram" |
| Room sharing | Quad and quint rooms cut the per-person hotel cost sharply | Check the occupancy written on the package |
| Nights in Madinah | More nights, more hotel cost, but a calmer trip | Count the nights in each city |
| Flights | Usually bought separately on Nusuk; bundled in most national packages | Ask whether flights are included and from which airport |
| Meals and guidance | Full board and a scholar per group cost more than breakfast only | Read the meal plan and the group size |
Timing matters too. Prices tend to rise as the season fills, and the cheapest tiers sell out first, so the same tier can be unavailable, not just dearer, if you decide late.
Package tiers and planning ranges
Nusuk packages are sold in tiers that bundle those drivers, from economy (far camps, shared rooms, basic transport) to luxury (close camps, towers by the Haram, small rooms). Our country guides give planning ranges for pilgrims from the three largest English-speaking markets; they are estimates for recent seasons, and 2027 prices will only be known when the platform opens.
| Departure | Budget or economy | Standard | Premium or luxury |
|---|---|---|---|
| USA (per person, USD) | about 5,000 to 7,000 | about 11,000 to 15,000 or more | about 22,000 to 27,000 |
| UK (per person, GBP) | from about 4,500 | middle of the 4,500 to 12,000 range | 12,000 to 15,000 and beyond |
| Canada (per person, CAD) | not separately estimated | about 11,000 to 15,000 | 16,000 to 22,000 premium, 23,000 to 30,000 luxury |
Read the detail behind each row in Hajj cost from the USA, from the UK and from Canada, and what each tier actually contains in Nusuk package tiers explained. The cost calculator turns a tier and a group size into a total.
What is included
A Nusuk Hajj package normally includes the Hajj visa, hotels in Makkah and Madinah for the stated nights, the camp in Mina and the services at Arafah and Muzdalifah, transport between the holy sites and the airport, a stated meal plan, and guidance. Flights are usually outside the package for Nusuk pilgrims and inside it for most national quota packages. Two packages at the same headline price can differ in every one of those lines, which is why the checklist in how to choose a Hajj package asks you to write each item down before comparing.
- Included almost always: visa, Mina and Arafah services, Makkah hotel, transport between sites.
- Included sometimes: Madinah nights, meals beyond breakfast, the Mashaer train, a scholar with the group.
- Excluded usually: the sacrifice, international flights, insurance, extra nights, personal spending.
Extras that come after the package
Plan for money that the package price does not show. These are the items pilgrims most often report forgetting.
| Extra | Typical situation |
|---|---|
| The sacrifice (hady) | Often paid separately through an official voucher or arranged by the group; ask whether it is in the price |
| Flights | Outside most Nusuk packages; long-haul fares peak in Dhul Hijjah |
| Vaccinations and a medical check | Meningococcal ACYW for everyone; polio and others by country |
| Travel insurance | Sometimes bundled with the visa, sometimes not; medical cover matters in the heat |
| Extra nights before or after | Arrival earlier than the package start, or a Madinah stay outside it |
| Personal spending | Food outside the meal plan, phone data, laundry, gifts, Zamzam shipping |
| Currency movement | Packages are priced in Saudi riyals, which track the US dollar; other currencies move against it |
Our UK guide suggests personal spending money in the region of 500 to 1,500 pounds; the calculator lets you add a modest, typical or generous allowance in your own currency.
Hajj 2027 packages: when they go on sale
For Hajj 2026, Nusuk Hajj registration for Muslim-minority countries opened in October 2025, an early-preference sales phase ran in January 2026, and packages then sold in phases through the winter. If 2027 follows the same pattern, expect registration to open in the autumn of 2026 and the cheaper tiers to go first; the Ministry has not published the 2027 calendar at the time of writing, so watch hajj.nusuk.sa rather than relying on last year's dates. The practical rule is to have your account created, your passport valid well beyond May 2027, and your payment method ready before sales open. See Hajj 2027 dates and planning for the expected calendar and a month-by-month timeline.
National quota countries
If your country runs its own Hajj system (Indonesia, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Turkey, Egypt, Malaysia, Singapore and most Muslim-majority countries), the authority publishes a package price each year, often in a government scheme and a dearer private-operator scheme, and you pay in the local currency through official channels. Those prices are usually lower than Nusuk tiers for Western pilgrims because flights are shorter and camps are allocated by the mission, but the wait can be years and the choice of hotel is limited. See how Hajj quotas work and your country's page under Hajj by country.
A savings plan for 2027
Work backwards from the tier you actually want, not the cheapest one. Price it with the calculator, add the extras above and a buffer of roughly ten percent for currency and price movement, and divide by the months until sales open, not until Hajj, because payment is due at booking. Save into an account you will not touch, avoid interest-based borrowing, and read Hajj budgeting and how to save for the month-by-month plan. If the total is out of reach for 2027, an honest economy package in your own Nusuk account is a better Hajj than a "cheap" one bought outside the platform: see Hajj scams for how those go wrong.
