Hajj 2027 Dates and Planning Timeline

Hajj 2027 (1448 AH) is expected in late April to early May 2027, with the Day of Arafah around the end of April, subject to moon sighting. Registration for many countries opens the previous autumn and winter, and the pilgrims who travel are usually the ones who started a year ahead. This guide gives the expected dates and a planning timeline.

Expected dates

Dhul Hijjah 1448 is expected to begin around mid-to-late April 2027, placing the Day of Arafah (9 Dhul Hijjah) at the end of April and Eid al-Adha the following day. Final dates depend on the sighting of the moon and are confirmed close to the time.

When registration opens

Nusuk Hajj, the platform for pilgrims from many Western countries, has opened registration in the autumn for the following year's Hajj in recent years. Countries with national quota systems (India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Nigeria and others) open their own registration windows, often in late autumn or winter. Watch your country's authority for announcements.

Month-by-month planning

  • 12 months out: check eligibility, passport validity, and savings.
  • 9 months out: register when windows open; compare packages.
  • 6 months out: confirm package, vaccinations, and leave from work.
  • 3 months out: documents, Nusuk profile, physical preparation.
  • 1 month out: packing, briefings, and a rites refresher.

Cost planning

Hajj costs vary widely by country and package tier. See the Hajj 2027 cost guide for a breakdown.

A note: this guide is general information for planning. For religious rulings, follow a qualified scholar and your group's guide. For official visa, permit and booking steps, the Nusuk platform (nusuk.sa) is the authority.
